Kyle Johnson, O.D.

Dr. Kyle Johnson found an unlikely “in” into optometry: much of the work he did at his father’s jewelry store growing up, perfecting their pieces to client’s needs and specifications, turned out to be similar to the optical and medical work he was increasingly interested in. Dr. Johnson went on to complete his undergrad at Kansas State University, and then his Doctor of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, before quickly relocating to Clinton. Today, he provides compassionate, patient-first eye care to the community he lives in and where his kids go to school. He enjoys fitting specialty contact lenses and providing medical eye care for conditions like dry eye, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. He also stays up to date on the latest in eye care as a member of the American Optometric Association, Missouri Optometric Association, and Beta Sigma Kappa optometric honor society.

Get to Know Dr. Johnson
Dr. Johnson was born and raised in Lenexa, KS, in a small business family. He learned to love spending time with his family and serving his community by working alongside his father. Family and community even played a role in meeting his wife: on their first blind date, they discovered that their grandfathers worked together and were close friends. When not improving the vision of his patients, Dr. Johnson loves getting out for boating on the lake, camping, hunting, and cycling, preferably with his wife and two daughters.
