Brett Liesemeyer, O.D.

Dr. Brett Liesemeyer completed his undergraduate at Central Missouri State University, and his Doctor of Optometry at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. In 1987, he and his family moved to Sedalia to open Family Eye Care to achieve his goals of serving others and operating a small business, and in the years since, he has brought his compassion and expertise to Eyecare Specialties.

Today, Dr. Liesemeyer is involved in eye care on a state and national level; he’s involved in the American Optometric Association and serves on the Missouri Optometric Association’s Board of Trustees. Dr. Liesemeyer genuinely cares for his patients, what’s going on in their lives, and how their vision is being impacted by their overall health. He’s careful to provide excellent service and solutions that complement patient needs but maintains a firm commitment to treat his patients in a relaxed, fun, and familiar way, making them feel like family.

Get to Know Dr. Liesemeyer

A Missouri native, Dr. Liesemeyer was born and raised in Marshall, and loves working in his home state. He’s heavily involved in his church and community and spends as much time as possible with his wife Laurie of 36 years, his two daughters, and his son-in-law, who have collectively provided him with eight grandchildren. This pleases Dr. Liesemeyer, a lover of babies, to no end.

In his free time, he tries to get outdoors as much as possible and enjoys just about any sports (especially golf), yardwork, camping, walks in the woods, and excuses to get outside that he can fit into his full days.
